Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact dimension drawings leak, show thinner handsets
If you had any doubts that an Xperia Z3 is coming fast and furious about six months after the Z2 was released, this latest leak of the phones' CAD drawings should quickly disperse those. Not only that, but we also have the CAD schemes of one Xperia Z3 Compact, that is long rumored to make a cameo alongside its larger flagship sibling.
Long story short, the dimensions that are depicted for the Xperia Z3 are somewhat different than those of the Z2 - at 146.46 x 72.09 x 7.3 mm it is slightly narrower and much thinner than Sony's current flagship edition. Frankly, a 7.3 mm girth is insane for a handset that will pack major specs, and be most likely waterproof.
As for the munchkin, the Z3 Compact is expected to fit a 4.6" display, and will evidently sport 129 x 64.9 x 8.8 mm dimensions. Thus, it will be much more manageable in the hand than the largish Z3, yet with the same great specs, save maybe for the screen resolution and RAM amount. These dimensions make it only a tad taller than the Z1 Compact, however thinner, and with the same width. Well, the IFA expo will be pretty exciting this fall, it turns out, as, besides those two thin and powerful Xperias, we are also expecting the Note 4, the Ascend D3, and plenty of other surprises. We will, of course, put boots on the ground, so that you don't miss a beat from all that will be announced.
