Xiaomi Mi Note 2 teaser showcases dual rear camera setup

Xiaomi only just launched the Mi 5s and 5s Plus and yet, another powerful handset could also be in the offing. The successor to the Mi Note has been rumored for a while, and it's likely that the phablet will be rolled out in the near future. Keeping us in the loop, a new image has popped up on Weibo that purportedly shows the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 from the rear.

The teaser doesn't offer a great deal, though does reaffirm the notion that the Mi Note 2 will launch with dual rear-facing cameras. The new Mi 5s Plus also offers two main shooters, although both are centered with one on top of the other. In the Mi Note 2's case, the sensors will sit in the corner akin to Apple's iPhone 7 Plus

From the other scraps we have on the Mi Note 2, it will apparently include the Snapdragon 821. Since Xiaomi has already indulged in Qualcomm's latest high-end chipset, it's logical to assume that the Mi Note 2 will now follow suit. The display will likely be in the vicinity of 5.5-5.7 inches, with a possible 1440 x 2560 resolution. Elsewhere, expect up to 6 gigs of RAM, a maximum of 128 or even 256 GB internal storage, two 16-megapixel primary cameras and a 5-megapixel effort on the front. All that power will require plenty of juice and as such, the Mi Note 2 is expected to carry a very serviceable 4000 mAh battery.

With reports swirling that the device will be unveiled this month, it may not belong before we see the Mi Note 2 in an official capacity. Despite the obvious similarities to the Mi 5s Pro, many fans will be waiting to see what the Mi Note 2 has to offer.

We'll keep you updated as and when we learn more, so stay tuned.
