Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 leaks out in alleged live image revealing updated design
Back in September of last year, Xiaomi announced the second-generation of its bezel-less smartphone, the Mi Mix 2, which was followed in March by an updated version dubbed the Mi Mix 2s. Now, though, in what seems to be the first live image, Xiaomi’s third-generation Mix 3 has appeared, showing off a streamlined design.

Unlike previous Mi Mix devices that have favored razor-thin top and side bezels and a slight chin down below, the Mi Mix 3 looks set to switch things up slightly by boasting bezels that are equally as thin all around, giving the appearance of a higher screen-to-body ratio. However, because of this, there doesn’t appear to have been enough room in the bottom bezel to fit a selfie camera, as seen on previous devices. In fact, upon inspection of the image, no front-facing lens can be spotted anywhere, suggesting Xiaomi may have adopted the techniques shown off by Vivo and Oppo that consist in a pop-out module for the sensor.

In regards to the rear of the smartphone, no images of the back panel have leaked as of yet, although the device is expected to resemble the Mi Mix 2S. This means a ceramic build should make a return alongside a vertical camera setup in the top corner that may boast two 12-megapixel sensors and a dual-tone LED flash. On an added note, the rear fingerprint scanner will likely be present once again.

As with most 2018 flagship models, the Mi Mix 3 should ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 on the inside and may be coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Furthermore, considering the smartphone isn’t expected till later in the year, Android 9.0 P should be expected straight out of the box along with the MIUI custom interface.
For now, Xiaomi is yet to make any official statement related to the upcoming smartphone but considering last year’s Mi Mix 2 made its official debut in September, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Mi Mix 3 follow the same schedule.
