Xiaomi Mi Max will offer "full-day" battery life
Tomorrow, May 10, Xiaomi will officially announce a new extra large smartphone (call it a phablet if you will): the Mi Max. Until that happens, Xiaomi today wanted to tease us - again - with a new image showing the device, mentioning that, despite its size, the Mi Max will still "feel comfortable" in hand, while providing "full-day" battery life.
Sporting a 6.44-inch display, the Mi Max will become Xiaomi's largest smartphone to date. This isn't a high-end device, but one that offers decent features at a low price. Its screen is a 1080 x 1920 pixels one, while the processor powering it is a mid-range hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650. A fingerprint scanner, a 16 MP rear camera, and a 5 MP front-facing camera will also be on board. The device's battery is a 4000 mAh one - that's a generous battery that should be able to last for at least a full day, just as Xiaomi is promising.
Most probably, the Xiaomi Mi Max won't be officially released in the US, though customers should be able to import it from various online retailers. Do you think you'd be interested in buying this device?
It's said that the Xiaomi Mi Max will be available in two variants: one with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, and another with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. Both should run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Xiaomi's own MIUI 8 on top. Prices could start at around $200 (at least in China).
