Xiaomi Mi 8X to be announced on September 19th
Based on a teaser released by Xiaomi, it appears that the company will be introducing a new smartphone exactly one week from today. On September 19th, we should see the Xiaomi Mi 8X become official. Specs for the device have been leaked, and the handset will feature a notched 6.26-inch 1080 x 2280 display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform is under the hood, and the phone will carry 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM inside. The unit will be equipped with 32GB/64GB/128GB of native storage.
The Mi 8X will feature a horizontally mounted dual-camera setup on back, and a 24MP selfie camera in front. Keeping the lights on will be a 3250mAh battery, and Android 8.1 Oreo will be pre-installed. Holy Huawei P20 Batman, the Mi 8X will be available with two gradient color options (Blue-Violent and Twilight Gold). Other choices include Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray, Silver, Green, and one unnamed color.
The Xiaomi Mi 8X will be offered in two different versions with gradient colors
There is some confusion about the name. Some are calling this handset the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth while others are using the Mi 8X moniker. Additionally, a variant of this phone could feature Fingerprint On Display (FOD). The images from TENAA show a fingerprint scanner on the back of the unit, but Xiaomi could have a premium edition of the Mi 8X that will come with the biometric scanner embedded in the screen. These questions and more will be answered on September 19th when model number M1808D2TE is unwrapped.
