Xiaomi Mi 4c to feature infrared port?
On September 24th, the Xiaomi Mi 4c is expected to be unveiled. The actual launch of the device is rumored to take place on October 3rd, with only 100,000 units being produced by the manufacturer. Two variants of the phone will be offered, one with 16GB of native storage and 2GB of RAM. The other will come with 32GB of storage inside, and 3GB of RAM.
According to a posting on Weibo, the Mi 4c will not only come with a Type-C USB port, it will also come with an infrared port to be used for security, not for connectivity. The handset is expected to be priced in the area of $200-$220 USD, and could be considered a stop gap until the long awaited Xiaomi Mi 5 is finally launched. We could see Xiaomi's new flagship unveiled on September 24th along with the Mi 4c.
We're looking forward to the 24th to see what Xiaomi has to tell us about the infrared port. That's just two weeks away.
