Woman using a cell phone during a movie sues the theater for negligence
We've heard some horror stories about the repercussions of using a cell phone during a movie, but this time around it seems like a cell phone user is the one who is going after the theater. From the looks of it, a woman was hit on the head as she was hunched over chatting on a cell phone “discreetly.” It apparently seems to be a bigger issue for the woman because a lump started to form afterwards and required a trip to a nearby hospital to address it. Sure we all know that cell phone usage during a movie is looked down upon, but the woman is suing the movie theater because they were negligent for not properly maintaining the armrests. Even though texting or chatting on a phone during a movie can rely be annoying to some people being affected by it, the woman simply said, "I bent down so as not to disturb anybody." Who knows what will ultimately come out of this, but maybe the whole situation with the armrest falling as she was on her phone happened for a reason – we'll see how things pan out in the end.
