Windows Phone 7 Marketplace has 2000 apps
Windows Phone 7, the latest mobile operating system from Microsoft launching on several phones throughout November, will give early adopters access to 2000 available applications and games at the time of its launch which is more than what was originally expected.
According to Microsoft, there are 13000 registered app developers for the new OS. An army of developers is exactly what Microsoft will need to compete with the likes of Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. The marketplace is open to submissions which should mean quick expansion.
Given that the number of applications at launch has already exceeded Microsoft’s expectations, it is only natural to assume that this rapid development should continue. This is good news for anybody willing to make the leap of faith with Windows Phone 7, or anyone that was on the fence about giving it a chance. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
