Windows 10 version of HERE Maps receives minor update
Once one of the reasons to buy a Windows Phone, HERE Maps was made available to iOS and Android once Microsoft purchased Nokia Devices and Services. HERE Maps was not part of the transaction, which allowed Nokia to turn it into a multi-platform feature.  Last summer, HERE Maps was sold to a consortium of auto makers. Audi AG, BMW Group and Daimler AG purchased the division for $3.07 billion. It is expected that the mapping technology will be used to power self-driving cars that the auto makers might produce in the future.

But that doesn't mean that the consumer will have to watch HERE wither away and die. In fact, the Windows 10 Mobile version of the app has received a minor update today, along with the HERE Drive+ and HERE Transit apps. Unfortunately, there aren't any changelists available for the three apps, which leads us to conclude that this is merely a maintenance update that takes care of minor issues.

Even if you employ another mapping application on your phone, there are many who use HERE as a back up. You can install it on your mobile device by clicking below on the appropriate link.
