Which manufacturer should make the next Nexus device? (poll results)
While not everyone necessarily agrees that Google's Nexus program has achieved what it initially set out to (promote quality hardware on stock Android), it's generally fair to say that it's more of a success than a failure. Nexus devices typically don't put out much fight when sales numbers are involved, but that does not mean that a tight community doesn't love them.
We asked you on Monday who you think the next manufacturer to make a Nexus device should be, and scores of you (over 5,000) spoke up. The poll is now closed, the results are in, and it's time for us to share them with you.

As it turns out, the public's clear favorite (30.68%) for the job is Sony, and that makes a lot of sense. That is, while Sony is currently struggling financially, it's hard arguing against the overall quality of its handsets, not to mention that it's one of only two major manufacturers (Chinese brands excluded) that hasn't yet had a shot at it. Second on the list is HTC, with 18.9% of the votes, and that too makes sense – HTC manufactured the very first Nexus device (the HTC Nexus One), and that was many years ago. The number three spot is nearly tied, with Samsung winning 11.66% of the votes, while its cross-town rival LG received 11.22% of them.
