WhatsApp for iPhone update adds message forwarding limitations
WhatsApp is pushing another important update to its iOS app, which is meant to limit the spread of faking news. The changes were announced and detailed in a blog post about a month ago, but here is a quick recap of what you'll get in the latest update.
As highlighted by WhatsApp last month, the update will limit the message forwarding feature, a function that's been added to the mobile apps a few years ago. If you haven't used it until now, you probably want to know that you can forward a message to multiple chats at once.
However, starting today, that message forwarding feature will be limited to just 5 chats at once. In addition, the quick forward button next to media messages has been removed. These features were recently tested in India where people forward more messages, photos, and videos than any other country in the world.
The latest update brings these changes to everyone using WhatsApp on their iPhones. It's also worth noting that these limitations might be further refined if WhatsApp believes they need to, but for the time being, you'll only be able to forward messages and media to no more than 5 chats.
