Ever since Amazon ran an ad during the Super Bowl that showed celebrity replacements for virtual assistant Alexa when the latter suffered a bout of laryngitis, it seems that the poor gal has been jinxed. Earlier this month, Alexa went down as some responses were delayed and many inquiries went unanswered. Now, there are reports from owners of devices that have Alexa on board, that she is laughing at users randomly.

So what can Alexa be finding so hilarious? Perhaps she is giddy with the growth in use of Amazon's virtual assistant, which has come from nowhere to arguably become one of the most useful digital helpers in the world along with Google Assistant.

Amazon is aware of the situation and says that it is "working to fix it." Meanwhile, if you own a device that features Alexa, don't be surprised if you hear an eerie sounding laugh coming from the speakers on your device.

You can hear Alexa laughing her chips off, scaring the hell out of many users who have characterized the giggle as witch-like, by clicking on the video at the top of this story.
