Remember the ads for the original Apple iPhone? Some consider those spots to be among the best television commercials ever made for a smartphone because they explained and displayed the features available on the device. Since then, Apple's marketing of the phone has matured along with the product; the iPhone no longer needs an introduction. So the company has instead deviated between tugging at our heartstrings and tickling our funny bones in order to promote its iconic smartphone, and the latest commercial for the Apple iPhone X uses comedy to show off Face ID.

The ad shows what the world would be like if locks required just a glance to open. In other words, what if you could unlock everything as easily as you unlock the Apple iPhone X?  Click on the video at the top of this story to find out.

UPDATE: If you look closely at the end of the ad, you can see a bug found in iOS 11 that somehow got past Apple's marketing team. We see a close up of the iPhone X with part of the text from an iMessage displayed outside of the bubble that it is supposed to be inside of. The words "Where R U???" can be seen on the screen as the bubble drops down to contain those words. You have to look very closely to see it, but it is there.

Apple is expected to add Face ID and the TrueDepth Camera to its new iPad Pro models, and a video (backed up by leaked sketches) claims to show that even the Apple iPhone SE 2 might embrace this feature. You can bet the farm that Apple will include Face ID on the rumored 5.8-inch iPhone Xs, 6.5-inch iPhone Xs Plus and the 6.1-inch iPhone 9. That trio should see the light of day in approximately 6 months.
