Waze for iOS and Android gets updated, now sends text messages to your friends or relatives
Both the iOS and Android versions of the popular crowd-sourced navigation app, Waze, got updated to version 3.8.0 and got treated to a wide range of handy new features. Now, it comes with better social features, as it allows you to send and receive friend requests, as well as manage your friends list. Waze also automatically goes through the contacts in your smartphone and finds the ones that are also Waze users. But that's not even the tip of the iceberg. See, the more prominent changes that the 3.8.0 update brings are mostly in the safety department.
You can now set Waze to inform your friends or relatives when you are going to arrive at your destination. It estimates how long it will take you to get there and sends them text messages with the estimated time of your arrival. This way, you'll have one less reason to use your phone and text while driving. Additionally, Waze can automatically send a text message to some predefined contacts if you happen to get stuck in one of those unpleasant traffic jams.

Among the other, not so notable improvements, are the slightly redesigned ETA screen and interface of the app, which now allow you to easily share your route with your Waze friends. The app has also been given the usual bug-fixing, stability-improving treatment.
