Watch the Galaxy S5 battery explode like a firecracker during a routine hammer&knife test
Samsung's Galaxy S5 is still young and fresh and water-resistant. It has been buried in a poolput in the sink under pouring water, and dropped from reasonable heights. If you have been worried that there are no hammer or scratch tests on Samsung's seasonal finest, you can sleep tight now.

The phone gets fairly gently smashed and scratched in the video below, like every routine smartphone hammer&knife test goes, and takes a decent overall beating, before it begins to crack. The utmost surprise, however, comes at the end, when the battery fights back, and dashes away like a firecracker. Yep, the impact of the hammer slap makes the juicer's innards go crazy, and it starts to spin, speeding off the table better than a swirling firework at the Chinese New Year.

The thousands of milliampere hours in today's smartphone batteries are packed so tightly together, that the tension makes them prone to some combustible and explosive chemical reactions, so, don't do this at home, and don't leave the S5 on the dashboard when in Arizona, too.
