Vonage BlackBerry app gives you a low cost international calling solution
Do you find yourself placing international phone calls every now and then to only discover a big surprise whenever your cell phone bill arrives in the mail? Or do you still feel that the global/international calling plan that you've attached to your account is still a bit too much for you? Good news for people who find themselves in that boat because Vonage is making international calling a bit tolerable with a BlackBerry handset. The VOIP company released an app for BlackBerry that provides an alternate solution for international calling – it's free to download and they're even throwing a $1 credit for your first call. It's also integrated to work with your address book so you can dial directly through there. You'd think that this app would route phone calls through your provider's data network, but in fact it uses only you local cell phone plan's minutes and routes it through their low-cost international VOIP network. Even better is that it's a pay as you go service so you can pay for the calls you place. Maybe now you might save up some of that extra cash for something else thanks to this app.
