Verizon's LG Intuition to launch online September 6th, and in stores on the 10th
Verizon customers were probably more than just a little miffed that the carrier didn't include the hot selling Samsung GALAXY Note phablet in its lineup. So Big Red went out and snatched up the LG Optimus Vu with its 5 inch screen, as a phablet for its customers to buy. First was the name change, to the LG Intuition, and now comes the launch. According to an internal Verizon publication, the square screened device will be released for online sales on September 6th followed by an all-channels launch on September 10th. An earlier leak showed that the LG Intuition will be priced at $199.99 with a signed two-year pact.
The LG Intuition offers a 5 inch LCD screen with resolution of 768 x 1024, resulting in a pixel density of 256ppi. The 4:3 aspect ratio results in a boxier screen than found on most devices, and a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 processor is under the hood. The device has 1GB of RAM on board and offers 32GB of native storage. The 8MP camera on back captures video in 1080p, while the 1.3MP front-facing camera is perfect for self-portraits and video chat. A 2080mAh battery keeps the gerbils running on the wheel and Android 4.0.4 is installed out of the box. The latest Optimus UI runs on top of Android.
Besides this model, there is speculation that HTC will be gracing Verizon with a 5 inch phablet with a 1080p display. That, though, is speculation while the LG Intuition will soon be available in the, uh, flesh.
