Verizon's HTC One to come with Android 4.2.2 out of the box; 32GB model on the way
Verizon spokesman Albert Aydin sent out a tweet Friday morning to add to the announcement about the August 22nd launch date for Verizon's version of the HTC One. While other U.S. models are powered by Android 4.1.2, Aydin confirmed that Big Red's variant of the device will come with Android 4.2.2 pre-installed. That means that Verizon customers will be able to use features like Daydreams and lock screen widgets along with the ability to support Instagram video in BlinkFeed. A upward swipe gesture will launch Google Now.
The Verizon HTC One will come out of the box matching the international version of the phone, which had already been updated to Android 4.2.2 back in June. The 16GB HTC One will cost $199.99 with a two year contract, as we have already reported. If the 32GB version is what you're hankering for, a separate tweet from Aydin confirms that this model will also be available from Verizon, offered in silver only. There was no word when that model will be launched.
