With the AMOLED screen shortage continuing to plague the HTC Droid Incredible, those who ordered the device on or before June 28th and have to wait an extra seven days to receive it, are getting a letter of apology in the mail from Big Red along with a $25 gift card. As we reported, HTC has decided to stop using Samsung's AMOLED technology because of the shortage of parts which leads to delays, and will switch to Sony's Super LCD TFT screens. Verizon is apparently changing the SKU for the Droid Incredible which gave the appearance that the handset was being phased out by the carrier when in effect, HTC is replacing the AMOLED screen on the phone for the Sony LCD display. No date has been announced when the new version of the Droid Incredible will be shipped. Orders taken for the Droid Incredible today will be shipped out on July 29th with Samsung's screen.
