Verizon rumored to be offering DROID loyalty program
With all of the high spec'd Android models that are expected to head to Verizon, Big Red customers are to be excused for freezing up when trying to decide whether or not to sign a 2 year contract and buy a new Android phone, knowing full well that in 2 weeks, that phone will be obsolete. To prevent an onslaught of angry customers who might jump ship, Verizon is rumored to be working on a DROID loyalty program that will allow for quicker upgrades for those who remain "loyal" to the carrier.
A quick perusal of comments from our own loyal readers shows that many of you are beginning to feel let down by the constant rollout of new Android models just weeks apart, each phone offering improved specs and newer features. Recently, Verizon has launched the Motorola DROID 3 and the Motorola DROID BIONIC and it is speculated that the carrier will soon offer the HTC Vigor, the Ice Cream Sandwich flavored Google Nexus Prime and the Motorola DROID RAZR. Down the road we can see the Motorola DROID 4 being readied for an eventual launch.
So how will Verizon bribe its faithful? According to Droid-Life, this is just in the early stages now. But with all of those high-end Android phones coming soon in time for the holiday season, we would expect some announcement from the carrier in the not too distant future.
