Verizon rolls out Android 7.0 Nougat update for the LG K8 V
LG and Verizon have teamed up to bring Android 7.0 Nougat to another mid-range smartphone, the K8 V. The handset made its debut at the Big Red last year, but it still ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board.
Today, Verizon announced that software update VS50020a will bring all LG K8 V smartphones up to date. The carrier also mentioned the update contains a newer security patch, but it's not yet clear which one is it.
Verizon's support page confirms some of the major improvements and new features included in the update such as multi-window support, new themes, a new version of Gallery app, Condition cards and more.
Also, the LG Downloads application will be replaced by a Google's Downloads app, which is supposed to offer more options to filter by name, type, and file size. LG K8 V will now be able to change fonts and icon sizes using a slider control.
Verizon is pushing the Android 7.0 Nougat to the LG K8 V via OTA (over the air), so make sure you connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network.

The Notification Panel has been optimized to make it easier to use. The same goes for Settings for Sound & notification, as well as the Storage and USB settings.
