Verizon LG G5 receives software update that optimizes the phone and adds the monthly security patch
Verizon has announced an update for its version of the LG G5, 2016's flagship handset from LG. The nation's largest carrier says that the update will add performance optimizations, fix known issues and install the latest security patch. First thing first; the update brings LG G5 users software version VS98728B. When the notification arrives saying that the update is on your phone, connect the device to a Wi-Fi network, or make sure that you have a strong signal from Verizon. You should also check to see if your battery is fully charged before proceeding with the installation of the new files.
The Verizon website indicates that the update doesn't brings much of a change, nor does it mention which month's security update is included. While it is nice to have updated security features, it might be more important to enhance the performance of the LG G5, especially considering that it is no longer LG's top dog with the LG G6 released.
If you own the LG G5 on Verizon, be on the look out for a notification telling you that the update has arrived.
