Motorola device with dual cameras and 18:9 display leaks in live images
Ahead of Motorola’s launch event in August, renders of two very similar smartphones dubbed the Motorola One and One Power have recently leaked out revealing what look set be the Chicago-based brand’s newest Android One offerings. Today, however, if a new set of live images is anything to go by, the company may have a third device in the works, although this one is slightly different.
Starting off with the rear design, the yet-to-be-named device appears to take elements from both the Motorola One and One Power by utilizing the glass build of the former and the vertical camera module of the latter. Interestingly, however, unlike the two mentioned devices, this new one doesn’t present any kind of Android One branding on the back, suggesting it won’t ship with stock Android and will most likely launch as part of the Motorola Moto series. Speaking of which, much like Motorola’s other devices, this new one sticks to a more traditional 18:9 display, doing away with the notched panel that’s present on the Motorola One duo.
Aside from the physical aspects, there is essentially no information in regards to what this smartphone will offer or how Motorola will choose to price it. However, considering the Lenovo-owned brand is set to launch its flagship Moto Z3 at its August event, and the fact that the company already offers the Moto Z3 Play alongside the Moto G6 and Moto E5 lineups, the only remaining gap is for a smartphone that makes use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 or 720 processors, which would ultimately mean a slightly higher price tag than the brand’s current offerings.
Presently, this is simply speculation and the images could even be related to a canceled prototype of the Motorola One. Nevertheless, if the company does choose to unveil an extra device, it will likely make its official appearance alongside the brand's other offerings at the August 2 event.
