Upcoming Motorola Droid will likely feature wireless charging
Despite what some rumors wanted us to believe, earlier this week Motorola didn't announce any new Droid smartphones, instead unveiling the Moto X Style (aka Moto X Pure Edition), the Moto X Play, and the Moto G (2015). However, when mentioning that the Moto X Play will not be released in the US, Motorola did say that "more choices" for US customers would be available sometime later this year - which likely means that new Droids are coming.

We already saw a rear panel that allegedly belongs to a new Motorola Droid, and now it's time to take a look at two new images that reportedly show the back chassis of the same upcoming Droid. Just like last year's Droid Turbo, the new model seems to be featuring wireless charging. Unfortunately, for now, that's all we know about the upcoming Droid.

You can check out the new images in the slideshow below. Also included is the previously leaked Moto Droid rear panel (which kind of resembles the back panel of the Moto X Style, though the pattern is obviously different).

It's not clear exactly when the new Motorola Droid will be announced. In any case, just like all previous models, the handset should be exclusively sold by Verizon in the US.
