Unannounced Verizon branded LG handset visits the FCC; is it the LG V10 sequel?
The other day, we told you that word out of Korea had the LG V10 sequel, the LG V11 or LG V20, facing a release in September. For that to happen in the U.S., we will have to see the handset get certified by the FCC. On Friday it was revealed that the unannounced LG-VS835 had been certified by the U.S. regulatory agency. There is speculation that this model is the LG V11 or LG V20.
The VS in the model number indicates that the phone vetted by the FCC is headed to Verizon. If you're curious, the Verizon LG V10 is model number LG-VS990. The LG-VS835 happened to be spotted in a database back in April.
The FCC documentation includes the usual diagram showing the positioning of the FCC label, and the engineering tests that are conducted by the agency. We expect that the LG V11/20 will carry the secondary screen found on the original model. Considering that the LG G5 has gone over like a lead balloon, we wouldn't be surprised to see the manufacturer throw everything including the kitchen sink into the device.
Thanks for the tip!
