After Galaxy Tab A 9.7, another Samsung tablet is getting updated directly to Android 7.1.1 Nougat – the Galaxy Tab E. However, unlike the former which was launched back in 2015, latter made its debut on the market last year.

Samsung has already updated the Galaxy Tab E to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but we didn't expect the South Korean company to continue to provide users with additional major OS updates.

Well, it looks like US Cellular is the first carrier in the US to provide the Android 7.1.1 Nougat for the Samsung Galaxy Tab E. The update is meant for the Tab E 8.0-inch that goes by model number SM-T377R4.

Besides all the goodies that Android 7.1.1 Nougat brings into the mix, Samsung also added the August security patch. According to US Cellular, the update can be downloaded via Wi-Fi or Samsung Kies using a USB cable.

In case you're one of the may US Cellular Galaxy Tab E owners, then you should be looking for the new firmware version T377R4TYU1CQI4, which will upgrade the slate to Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
