U.S. Cellular revealed on a Facebook wall post that the regional carrier will be offering an exclusive Android device from Samsung. Named the Acclaim, the phone will nestle into the mid-range of the carrier's Android models, below the high end HTC Desire. The Samsung Acclaim (R880) will be powered by Android 2.1, feature a 3.2 inch HVGA display and be equipped with a physical QWERTY keyboard, and is said to resemble the Samsung Moment. U.S. Cellular has said to expect more Android launches this year and in the meantime, both the Desire and the Acclaim seem headed toward a July launch. No word was revealed on pricing.
