Two new featurephones join the line-up at MetroPCS
Pre-paid carrier MetroPCS has recently added the LG Esteem for its customers who want LTE connectivity, a 4.3 inch touchscreen and all of the bells and whistles that Android offers, but without getting tied up to a 2 year pact. But even those who just want a phone to do the basic things like make and take calls, send texts, and snap photos might not want to be tied up for 24 months. As a result, MetroPCS has bolstered its featurephone lineup with a couple of models that will never be confused for a high-end smartphone.
The LG Beacon offers a 2.8 inch touchscreen with resolution of 240 x 400 and supports 262,000 colors. The phone comes with a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard for texting and sending emails. A 1.3MP camera is on back and the phone can function as an MP3 player and includes a speakerphone. The price of the phone is $44 after a $25 mail-in rebate. Of course, being MetroPCS, there is no contract required.

The other addition to the roster is the Kyocera Presto. The device runs on BREW and is not a touchscreen model. It does have a regular numerical phone pad, a camera and access to the web. The device is $9 after a $20 mail-in rebate.
