Twitter's Windows Phone app gets Bing Translator as part of update
Yes, it is a bit unusual to see a new feature for a major app like Twitter get debuted on Windows Phone. But when that feature is Bing Translator and it's offered by Microsoft, it might not seem so strange after all. Imagine you're reading a tweet that is not in your native language. Click on a button and instantly the 140 characters are making a lot more sense to you.
Bing Translator became available for Windows Phone last November and with the Bing Platform released for developers on Wednesday, we could see Bing Translator baked inside the official Twitter apps for iOS and Android as well as other messaging apps, in the not so distant future.
We would be amiss if we didn't mention that the Bing Translator was added to Twitter in an update for the Windows Phone version of the app. Besides the translator, the update includes some bug fixes and also allows you to view Vine videos in-tweet. Overall, the Twitter experience is said to be improved for Windows Phone users with this update. So what are you waiting for? If you have a Windows Phone flavored handset, head to the Windows Phone Store and update your Twitter app now.
