Time Warner Cable & Verizon Wireless bundles available in select cities
You may remember after Verizon Wireless acquired 122 AWS spectrum licenses for $3.6 billion, it announced that it was working with several cable providers to offer a quadruple play service that bundled Verizon Wireless service in with traditional cable offerings.
Of the companies involved, Time Warner has just launched its Verizon Wireless add-on website. Essentially, customers who bundle a new 2-year Verizon Wireless contract with a qualifying Time Warner service, namely a Double Play, Triple Play, or Ultimate Internet package, will be eligible to receive a $200 Prepaid Debit Card.
According to Time Warner’s site, the offer is valid on any Verizon Wireless smartphone or tablet with a new 2-year agreement and data pack, but is limited to customers in the “Cincinnati / Columbus, OH, Kansas City, KCMO, and Raleigh, NC” markets.
Comcast has already been offering similar bundles on its end. Unfortunately there have been reports of a variety of issue with the bundle due to the two companies not having their billing and support systems in line with each other. Hopefully Time Warner and Verizon have taken some cues from the Comcast roll-out to smooth out some of the hiccups in the process.
