Tim Cook "thrilled" with Apple iPhone 8/8 Plus and Apple Watch sales as he visits Palo Alto Apple Store
Apple CEO Tim Cook visited the Apple Store in Palo Alto, California this morning to watch first hand the launch of the Apple iPhone 8, Apple iPhone 8 Plus and the Apple Watch Series 3. Inside the store, Cook chatted with customers and even took part when "the wave" was started up inside the retail location. Cook told CNBC that a connectivity issue with the Apple Watch Series 3 was not affecting demand for the stand-alone timepiece. He added that the problem is a minor one that will be fixed in a future software update. According to the executive, the smartwatch has "sold out in so many places around the world."
"I am thrilled. Here's what we're seeing right now. The watch with LTE — the Series 3 Watch — we are sold out in so many places around the world. And we're working really hard to meet demand. We've sold out of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in some stores, but we've got good supply there. You can see what's going on here this morning — I couldn't be happier."-Tim Cook, CEO, Apple
Earlier reports by analysts called for lower than normal sales for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 during the launch weekend, all because of the iPhone X. The tenth anniversary model will launch on November 3rd and many consumers are waiting to test out the premium model before deciding which version to buy.
