Tim Cook hints that there will be no new Apple products until fall
Apple reported a pretty solid quarter, despite the troubles with the stock price, but during the quarterly earnings call CEO Tim Cook hinted that the company would not be releasing any new products until the fall. So, it sounds like all of the rumors claiming that Apple would move to a faster release schedule may not be accurate.
During the call, Tim Cook said, "Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software and services we can’t wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014." It isn't a complete admission, but Apple never really says exactly what is going on. But, that makes it sound quite a bit like there won't be any major product releases until the fall. An analyst called later for confirmation, and Cook simply replied, "I don’t want to be more specific. We have some really great stuff coming in the fall and all across 2014."
So, if you were hoping for an iPhone 5S, iPad 5, iPad mini 2, or iWatch, you may be waiting a while. There may be a MacBook refresh, but it sounds like we shouldn't expect anything else.
