This new Sony Xperia flagship smartphone could be announced on September 1 at IFA 2016
Sony this week confirmed that it will host a press conference on September 1 at IFA 2016 in Berlin. While the company doesn't say what it's going to announce then, we think that there's a high chance for a new flagship to be unveiled on that day. And we may have already seen photos of this next generation flagship.
Currently known as Xperia F8331 (this is just a model number, of course), the upcoming Sony smartphone seems to have a revamped design: it doesn't quite resemble the current Xperia X phones, and neither the latest Xperia Z models. According to rumors, the device's front and rear cameras will both feature 4K video recording, which would be a first in the smartphone world. A USB Type-C port, and possibly a 1080p display should also be on the specs list. Details regarding the phone's processor, memory, and battery are currently missing.
In recent years, Sony took advantage of the fact that IFA is the largest consumer electronics show in the world and officially showcased various flagship smartphones during the event, including the Xperia Z5 (announced on September 2, 2015). Thus, we're certainly looking forward to seeing what the company will share with us at IFA 2016.
