So, among the many new things in Android O, we will get another
refresh of the way emoji look. For years now, stock Android's emoticons have retained a unique, blob-like shape, keeping them similar to the Android mascot's head. However, the "blob emoji" aren't really loved by users, often referred to as ugly.
Major manufacturers that use Android as their phone's operating system are always eager to replace the emoji with their own set. Basically, the blob heads are only present on Google's Pixel and Nexus phones, as well as the few phones out there that run vanilla Android. Well, when the O update rolls out, the blobs will be gone, and we will have more conventionally-looking emoji.
