The cheapest iPhone 11 is not in the US
Apple's average iPhone selling price (ASP) hit a record of $652 in 2017, and the continuing sales of the iPhone X, as well as the new trio of notch-y handsets that it introduced in 2018, pushed it to the whopping $793, an all-time record.

This is a rather dreamy scenario for Apple, given that folks are keeping their handsets for three instead of two years now on average, while the breakneck pace of smartphone market growth is slowly abating.

Apple isn't messing with its winning pricing structure for the new 2019 crop of the iPhone 11, Pro and Max models, and is even releasing them at the same time, so we shudder to think what its ASP for the holiday quarter would be.

Granted, Apple did lower the price of the iPhone 11, though, down to $699 from $749 for the XR and yet kept the starting $999 and $1099 prices of the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, albeit they still ship with 64GB of base storage, so the markup on those will be huge.

Apple iPhone 11 vs Pro Max country prices

As usual, some countries will wait a week more than others to get their grubby mitts on the new iPhones, and thanks to exchange rate, value-added or import tax peculiarities, the rest of the world have them for way more than here in the US. Without further ado, here are their prices in USD, depending on the country and configuration, for comparison purposes.

As you can see, Apple is hedging its bets in places with yo-yo currency exchange rates like the UK or Russia, and the iPhones command some of the most expensive prices when calculated in US dollar terms there.

Countries with very high value-added or other taxes are also suffering heavily, with Norway scoring the unfortunate iPhone 11 price record of $947 for the basic 64GB model (that one is $699 stateside), while Apple Russia asks the eye-watering $2053 for the 512GB iPhone 11 Pro Max.

On the other hand, in countries like Japan, where Apple was losing market share like crazy, it aims to keep its pricing in check, and the Land of the Rising Sun boasts the cheapest iPhone 11 tag of just $692 in USD terms

Apple iPhone 11 vs Pro Vs Max pre-order and release dates by country availability

The iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and its 6.5" Max version land in up to six color finishes this time, adding a pretty matte midnight green for the Pro models, as well as green and purple for the iPhone 11.

They will be available for pre-order beginning Friday, September 13 and in stores beginning Friday, September 20 for the countries in the first batch, and from Friday, September 20 and in stores beginning Friday, September 27 for the rest of the world. Here's who gets what where.
