Well, folks, MWC 2015 is just around the corner and it just so happens that it coincides with Sony's 6-month refresh cycle for its flagship phones. Yes, we all know it – unless a wild twist of fate changes Sony's plans or mind – the Xperia Z4 is coming.
An interesting piece of info suggests that it may be available ina dual-SIM variant, too. Smartphones that support two cards are not uncommon in Asia, but the western market doesn't seem to care about them that much. Still, Sony did release a dial-SIM variant of the Xperia Z3 in select markets in Europe, and this new piece of info suggests it may continue (maybe even eveolve) the trend.
Last week, FCC watchers have noticed the Z4 pass through, bearing the model number PM-0850-BV. Now, another device, PM-0851-BV, has been registered as well, and its documents clearly state that its a dual-SIM device.
The Xperia Z4 is still somewhat of a mystery – rumors are conflicting, and we've no idea whether Sony has decided to hop on the QHD bandwagon, or keep to its favorite 1080p. As far as CPU goes, some say it will be a 32-bit Snapdragon 805, while others insist on a 64-bit Snapdragon 810. While the latter sounds more plausible, as 64-bit is all the rage in Android land since Lollipop arrived, we wonder whether recently reported troubles Samsung's been having with the 810 chip may have caused a number of other manufacturers to steer clear of it, too. We're also hearing about 3 GB of RAM and 4 GB of RAM – let's just sum it up that these whispers are either mixed info about the Z4 and Z4 Compact, or Sony plans to release a mystery flagship along with the Z4.
