The Sony Ericsson Kurara - 8.1-megapixel handset running Symbian S60
A picture of the still unannounced Sony Ericsson Kurara has surfaced on the Internet. We still don´t know if that´s a codename, but considering that some of the latest models of the manufacturer rolled out with names like the Jalou, Aino and Yari, we won´t be surprised it it turns out the device will be called the Kurara indeed. The sketchy information has it the Sony Ericsson Kurara will be equipped with 3.5-inch touch-sensitive, AMOLED screen and if this is true, well, this will be the handset of the manufacturer utilizing the above-mentioned technology. The other known specifications include 8.1-megapixel camera with flash, but the handset lacks microUSB port, meaning it will probably come equipped with Sony Ericsson´s proprietary port. Similarly to the Sony Ericsson Satio, the Kurara will be based on Symbian S60 5th Edition. The unofficial information also goes the device is part of the Entertainment Unlimited line-up of the manufacturer, plus there is a small inscription on the back saying "HD". If the handset is indeed able to capture videos at HD resolution, it may prove to be a major rival of the Samsung Omnia HD i8910 that also happens to be running the same operating system. Still, we need to take into account the latter has been available for quite some time now, while the Kurara has not even been announced yet.
According to LetsGoDigital, the Sony Ericsson Kurara will be officially announced at Mobile World Congress 2010 that takes place next February and will hit the shelves later on next year. Information relating to its pricing is still unavailable.
