The Serendipity S7 is an upcoming bezel-busting phone that won't be available in a store near you
Ever heard of Serendipity? It's OK, we haven't either. It's, obviously, a China-based smartphone start-up that is aiming quite high with the smartphone that it currently has in the pipeline - the Serendipity S7, a device that will most probably pack some of the thinnest side bezels ever graced the front of a smartphone.
These will allegedly measure just 0.7mm in thickness - in Serendipity's camp, thin is totally in!
The semi-official bezel-busting phone is not out yet, but the manufacturer just spilled the beans and provided some information about its device, as well as some real-life photos of the handset. Specs-wise, there's nothing impressive on-board: it'll don a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D display, a Snapdragon 400 MSM8928 chipset, 2GB of RAM, some 16GB of native storage, a 13MP rear / 5MP front camera and a 2600mAh battery to keep the lights on.
Yes, specs are nothing to write home about, but the highlight and main selling point of this handset will be the sleek bezels. These look quite nice, but because of it the manufacturer has been faced before some production issues. As a result, the S7 is said to arrive in limited quantities at first.
How limited, exactly? Well, it's said that merely 2000 units for the Chinese market have been manufactured as of now, which is quite a lowly quantity. As a result, we are quite pessimistic that the start-up will succeed to bring the S7 in a market near you anytime soon.
