In his career as a movie star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson never worked with a co-star as unique as the one he acts with in a new iTunes movie that debuts tomorrow, July 24th. The film is called The Rock x Siri, and yes that is Apple's voice activated personal assistant sharing top billing with one of the world's biggest movie stars. Johnson disseminated a tweet earlier today in which he called the picture the "biggest, coolest, sexiest, funnest (is that a word?) movie ever."

UPDATE: The movie is now live on iTunes. Check out a clip from the movie by clicking on the video at the top of the story.

This year has become the year of the personal assistant as Amazon's Alexa has come out of obscurity to become one of the big players in the game along with Google Assistant and Cortana. One of the reasons for this is the unexpected surge in smart speaker sales. The product, which combines a speaker with a personal assistant, has become the new must-have tech item for the home. Besides the Amazon Echo, which was the first in the category and contains Alexa, other smart speakers include the Google Home (with Google Assistant). Expected later this year is the Microsoft Invoke (with Cortana) and the Apple HomePod (which includes Siri).

Based on the poster for the movie, The Rock x Siri looks to be an action picture that will include car chases, airplane disasters, alien beings (androids, perhaps?), and more. Siri has really lucked out this time. You can't make your movie debut with a co-star any bigger or more well-known than The Rock. Not that Siri isn't world-famous either, in her own way. While we doubt that Johnson and Siri will have an off-screen romance, there is talk that he has been pressing her button.
