Sound ID, a company based in Palo Alto, California introduced today a Bluetooth cellular phone earpiece dubbed PSS - Personal sound system. The device has an integrated, high performance digital signal processor to digitally enhance the sound quality. Using the EarPrint™ hearing evaluation system, PSS lets you quickly create a custom hearing profile. The Personal Sound System then uses this profile to adjust its signal processing to maximize the intelligibility of the mobile phone signal to the user. Personalized Digital Sound increases quality of sound for all listeners, providing benefit through Personalization and Adaptive Noise Compensation. The expected price is around $299 and the headset will be available to the general public in early spring 2003.
