On Thursday, we passed along what allegedly was an image of the third-generation Motorola Moto X. At the same time, we told you that a rumor had Motorola producing two versions of this phone. A larger 5.7-inch model would be a Verizon exclusive, and there would be a 5.2-inch version as well. Both variants would feature a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution screen.
Friday morning some new information regarding the device was discovered. According to India's import-export site Zauba, a GSM phone code named the Motorola Calisto was imported into the country for testing. While not much information about the handset was posted, we can see that the units were shipped to India from Canada.
But what gives us the idea that this is the next Moto X? Looking at the listing, it shows that the phone is valued at the equivalent of $466 USD, one of the higher priced handsets that we've seen on Zauba. At that price, it is certainly possible that the "Calisto" is actually the third-generation Moto X. The units shipped to India are samples and are not for sale.
Is that the third-generation Motorola Moto X shipped into India for testing?
