One of the most popular messenger apps for mobile devices, Telegram has just released another major update that adds a couple of new features and lots of improvements.

The update is available for both the Android and iOS versions of the app, but the former gets a few extra improvements that we will mention at the end.

First of all, Telegram 3.15 comes with a very important new feature, the ability to pin important conversations to the top of the user's inbox. With pinned chats, it will be much easier to track work-related chats in a predictable order whenever the app is opened.

In order to make use of this new feature, you can long tap on a chat (or swipe left on iOS) and select Pin. It's also worth mentioning that you can pin up to 5 chats to the top, as well as 5 secret chats.

Another important new feature included in the update is IFTTT (If This Then That) integrations, which should work with most popular social networks like Twitter and Instagram, as well as productivity tools such as Gmail or Pocket.

In addition, IFTTT works with some entertainment apps like Spotify or Pinterest, cloud services like Dropbox or Google Drive, and IoT (Internet of Things) devices, including Nest, LIFX, or Philips Hue.

Telegram states that its app is the first to be fully integrated with IFTTT. Basically, the app allows users to control other services via Telegram, or receive notifications and content like photo and videos when they do something.

Moving on to the Android app, Telegram did some change specific to this one. For example, users will now be able to rotate their photos by any small number of degrees, thanks to the updated photo editor.

Furthermore, Telegram users are now allowed to tap the Picture-In-Picture icon in the new video player for YouTube/Vimeo links. The video will automatically shrink, so you will then be able to drag it on the screen where you want. The new video player turns to full mode when you rotate your phone.
