Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro will have a thin build according to a Xiaomi teaser
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro will be the manufacturer's first handset to sport a fingerprint scanner. That was confirmed yesterday when Xiaomi co-founder Lin Bin
posted a picture of the device on his Weibo page. The photograph revealed that a fingerprint scanner will be on the back of the phone, underneath the camera and dual LED flash.
Today, a new teaser has been posted on Xiaomi's own Weibo site, hinting that the phone will be thin. The image shows a caliper, which is a tool used to measure the thickness of a product or component, with a reading of "???. " Earlier reports had the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro measuring .5mm thicker than the
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. That would make the handset 8.75mm thick. While not a fatty, that doesn't seem thin enough to warrant a teaser.
We would guess at this point, that the 8.75mm figure is wrong, and that the Redmi Note 2 Pro will have a thinner design than previously thought. It is hard to tell from the picture that Xiaomi's Bin posted on Wednesday, but the image certainly doesn't rule out a svelte phone. Keep in mind that the new handset is expected to have the same specs as the Redmi Note 2, but with a metallic build and that fingerprint scanner.
We are less than a week away from the unveiling, which means that we can expect more leaks in the days ahead. Stay tuned!
