TCL unveils a new smartband and a homekit at CES
TCL has announced at CES today, a new smartband that it is calling the MOVEBAND BT (for Bluetooth). The device uses Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, and a series of gesture controls allow users to navigate the device with a twist of the wrist and other gestures. The smartband will monitor your movements and your sleep. It also alerts you to notifications including phone calls, emails and other messages.
Two versions will be available. One carries a double wrap leather strap for women, and the other features a single round band for both men and women. With an IP67 certification rating, the MOVEBAND BT can be submerged in water as deep as 3 feet for as long as 30-minutes, and escape unscathed. While pricing was not disclosed, the device will be available starting in March through retailers and operators. The wearable supports both iOS (7 or greater) and Android (4.0 and up).
The kit is expected to launch in March, and will be offered by retailers and operators.

TCL also has officially unveiled its LIFE Home Monitoring Kit which enhances the security of your home and the family inside it. The kit includes a LIFECAM camera, LIFESENSE window and door sensor and motion detector LIFEDETECT. LIFE can also monitor infants. The LIFECONNECT home bridge allows all of these tools to come together giving you a total sense of security. All of these tools install easily and can be tied together with the LIFECONNECT app that works with iOS 8 and up, and Android 4.0 and up.
At TCL, our goal is to gain a significant position in the smart-home market. It’s a market that's taking off, but still faces barriers such as high price, complexity in installation and management, which slow down wider adoption. LIFE Home Monitoring Kit looks to make smart-home technology more accessible by being affordable and user-friendly. You don’t need to be a tech specialist to install it and everything can be managed by a single app on your smartphone."-Vittorio DiMauro, Senior Vice President and Smart Connectivity Division
