T-Mobile's new pre-paid service, GoSmart, launches under the radar
T-Mobile launched its new pre-paid service, GoSmart Mobile on Tuesday and the launch was under the radar as most headlines screamed about the HTC One. For the new service, the nation's fourth largest carrier is teaming up with the company it is in the middle of acquiring, MetroPCS. For $35, users get unlimited talk, text and web browsing, but the browsing speed is suitable for browsing, email and social networks. Pay $45 per month and the data speed is pushed up to 3G for the first 5GB of data usage. After that, the data speed is throttled down to 2G. If you don't need data, unlimited calling and text is $30 a month.

GoSmart also has additional fees for those who need to communicate internationally. Add $5 a month for unlimited texts to 200 countries while $10 a month extra brings unlimited texts and calls to 50 countries. The service is designed for those who bring their own unlocked GSM handsets to the service. If you need a handset, GoSmart offers entry level phones from Alcatel ($49) and ZTE ($99).
