Not even released yet and T-Mobile's Samsung GALAXY Note is getting an update
The T-Mobile variant of the Samsung GALAXY Note isn't
supposed to launch at T-Mobile until August 8th. But it looks like the phablet will be
coming out of the box with an update. The new software version is
T879UVLG3 and at 21MB, it is thin. According to T-Mobile, there are three changes including the one that keeps repeating '
Enter MAC address’ after entering the MAC address. Another problem is that the weather widget has been showing the wrong location. Lastly,
MobileLife contacts addresses combined into a single field.
The update will be available either via an OTA update or by syncing to your PC and using Kies. Don't underestimate the ease of an OTA update. There could be one typo involved with the update. Both the OS on the unit in the box and the update are listed as Android 4.0.3 which wouldn't matter except that current production models
are using Android 4.0.4.
To get the update, either via OTA or Kies, you need to have you
battery filled at 50% or higher, so keep your plug in for the first few days after you get your device.
