T-Mobile to get the Huawei Sonic?
Thanks to an image of a device that has just passed through the FCC, it appears as though the Android-powered Huawei Sonic smartphone may be heading to T-Mobile with max-speed HSPA+ on-board.
The Huawei Sonic has just recently launched in Turkey with Android 2.3 Gingerbread running the show. Perhaps more impressively is the fact that the Sonic also has NFC capabilities.
Huawei’s Sonic is meant to be an affordable smartphone. The device features a 3.5-inch HVGA display and utilizes Huawei’s custom user interface. Take a look at the video and you may notice that the applications menu is strikingly similar to the TouchWiz interface on Samsung phones with its side-to-side scrolling. It should also be noted that according to the filing this phone will support maxed-out data on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network of up to 42Mbps.
This phone probably will be launching soon and should be a reasonable option for those looking to get some solid performance without burning a hole in their pocket. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
