T-Mobile makes it official: BlackBerry Bold 9700 to be launched November 16th for $199.99
Last Monday, our anonymous tipster gave us some solid information that we passed on to you. And now, T-Mobile has confirmed that our information was right on the money. This coming Monday, November 16th, the nation's number four carrier will be launching the BlackBerry Bold 9700 at a price of $199.99 with a 2 year contract. The 9700 offers Wi-Fi with UMA, a 3.2MP camera, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microSD slot for expanding memory.
The original Bold 9000 was the first 'Berry to offer 3G connectivity and the design was a step forward for RIM. Subsequent models like the Storm and the Tour can trace some of their aesthetic qualities to the original Bold. The smartphone landscape has changed greatly since AT&T launched the Bold 9000 a little more than a year ago. Despite tough competition from a slew of new Android smartphonesrecently released by Verizon, a new webOS model spreading Pixi dust at Sprint, and the continued success of the iPhone over at AT&T, the BlackBerry 9700 will probably do what 'Berry's do best-find buyers among the usual core BlackBerry fans who will tell you that nothing does e-mail like a BlackBerry, and from corporations that need functionality for their employees on the road instead of all the bells and whistles found on today's smartphones. Before you head over to the store, remember to check out our Review on the Bold 9700.
