T-Mobile and Orange UK merger to create a carrier of monstrous proportions
What are you supposed to do if you want to create a market leader on one of the most developed cell phone markets? Well, in pretty much the same way that sci-fi movie monsters are born - take Godzilla and get it to mate with King Kong without telling us how you managed to pull it off and there you go. That´s exactly what Deutsche Telekom and France Telekom are trying to do by launching negotiations on possible merger of their British-based divisions.
Both companies seem intent on hammering out an agreement that will give them equal share of the new mega-carrier, expected to amass the mind-boggling 37% of all subscribers. The new super-company will be able to offer better services, improved coverage and put the parents into more advantageous position in terms of spending on new technologies. Certainly, the new carrier will have the upper hand over its two competitors as well.
