T-Mobile and MetroPCS offering exclusive smartphone deals this week

Who doesn't like a good deal on a new smartphone? Both T-Mobile and its pre-paid brother MetroPCS are offering some special deals that will be available starting this upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Beginning Saturday May 23rd and running through Monday May 25th, the 64GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge will cost the same as the 32GB model. That means that you can double up on your memory without having to dig deeper into your wallet. The savings amounts to $80.

Another deal involves the LG G Stylo, which is a 5.7-inch phablet with a 720 x 1280 resolution screen, powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 CPU. The unit features 2GB of RAM and comes with 16GB of expandable storage. A 13MP rear-facing camera is included as is the 5MP selfie snapper that adorns the front of the device. The LG G Stylo supports 4G LTE connectivity and comes with Android 5.0 pre-installed. A stylus comes with the new handset out of the box. The carrier is offering this model for $0 down with monthly payments of $12.08 due for 24 months. If you want to pay off the phone at one time, the retail price is $289.92.

The LG Leon is an entry-level phone with a 4.5-inch screen and a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU. It offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. On back is a 5MP camera and there is a shooter on front for selfies and video chat. Android 5.0 is pre-installed. The Leon is available for $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $6.24. That works out to a full retail price of $149.76. As part of its special smartphone offers, T-Mobile pre-paid subscribers can get the LG Leon for free after an instant rebate.

At MetroPCS, starting on June 1st, the LG Leon can be purchased for just $49 and the LG G Stylo can be yours for $199 after instant rebates on both units. But starting today, if you leave a pre-paid carrier like Boost Mobile or Virgin Mobile and sign up with MetroPCS, the LG Leon can be yours for free. In addition, MetroPCS is bringing back the 4 x $100 promotion which allows consumers to score four lines with unlimited talk, unlimited text and unlimited data for $100 a month. The catch is that only the first 2GB of data consumed each month is at 4G LTE speeds.
